Hello – I accidentally updated the visual composer plugin to 5.0 and I see NewsMag is currently only compatible with 4.9x – Now Visual Composer doesn’t save any changes I make to it.
I redownloaded the theme package from ThemeForest and installed the composer plugin from that package but it’s version 5.0.
Can I get a previous version or a fix to this issue
Hello benneely,
Please keep in mind that you will have to use only the Visual Composer version which comes bundled with the theme packet. So, please delete your actual version of this plugin and then, from the panel you should re-install the right version of Visual Composer like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/NuuyfFTgE The latest version of Visual Composer is 5.0.1 and it should work as expected with the theme. -> https://www.screencast.com/t/BSal2DNcE
Also, please check your system status parameters to be according to our documentation like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

I’m having the same issue. Latest version of the theme and VC. Just installed today.
VC will not save elements. I can add an element, duplicate them. But you cannot save an individual element after changes are made to it.
QUESTION: I just upgraded to PHP 5.6.30. Is that a problem?
Hello consafo,
Your PHP version it seems to be good. For more references about theme requirements, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/ Ensure that you are suing the latest version of the theme and also, make sure that you are using only the plugin version which comes bundled with the theme. To be safe, try to disable the Visual Composer version, delete it and install it again from Premium Plugin Area, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ooOH3wezI Clear all your caches and check the results.

Hello benneely,
First of all, please make a full backup to your database to be safe and then, you should make a new fresh install from scratch via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, try to remove all of them and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello – I have ended up buying visual composer to try and see if that works however that still doesn’t save, I contacted their support and here is what they said:
“The issue is because there is a Visual Composer related code present in your theme added by the theme author. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. Kindly check.”
Is this something we can check?
Hello benneely,
Please keep in mind that the Visual Composer (5.0.1) is fully tested with our theme and this type of version come bundled with the theme packet. Do you have installed this type of plugin according to our guide in the Newsmag 3.3.1? Do you have increased the system status parameters to be according to our documentation? If all of these steps are accomplished and the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Provide there the link to this topic so we can quickly identify you.
