Hi Guys,
I am having troubles with VC. All plugins installed then while editing pages, I don’t see the templates and VC elements as shown in the demo videos. I just see the templates in a drop down way, not in a visual way, but even if I select any template, it then just keep ‘loading….’ forever.
Then I uninstalled, deleted all the plugins. I didn’t have any other 3rd party ones. So then I only installed VC and I get – Warning: Error while sending QUERY packet. PID=328024 in /home/mostwa7/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1813
Plugin activated successfully.
Edit: Now my VC seems working but I still don’t see templates in a visual form. Only text drop down.
Any tips?

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme which was released today and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme (Social Counter 4.0, Visual Composer 4.11.2) to rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, try to clear all your caches and test it again. If your problem is still there after this advice, please try to make a new install with the latest version of the theme and see how it works the theme on your side with the default state.

So how do I get the latest version. I went on downloads page and when I downloaded, it shows themeforest-5480609-newspaper.zip This is exactly the name I downloaded last time. Is this the latest version? Or does my downloads page updates itself and only the latest version is available there? Thanks.
And this is what I get while installing the new updated version. It was a clean upload..

I have checked your website and I saw that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) and that’s correct. So, this type of errors seems to come from your database. It is possible that you have some problem with database settings. So, please try to check your error log from your server because there you will have to see this error and where it comes from. I recommend you to make a new install from scratch with the latest version of the theme and check the results.

I am having the exact same problems; Visual Composer does not show the actual templates, just a drop-down menu. I deactivated all plug-ins. Still no go. I deleted the install, downloaded a fresh version (today, May 25) and did a complete reinstall. No go; still doesn’t work. This is my main business site; I need for it to work. What do I do now?
I did the clean install. Deleted the earlier theme and then uploaded new one. But still the same issue. No template, only in dropdown. Though VC is working now.
Also, whenever there’s an update notification, will I have to re-upload the theme every time? Because that resets all the setting in theme panel. Please answer.
I am having the same problem. When I click to add an element I do not see any of the Box or Grid elements, just the standard VC elements. When I choose a template I am not able to edit any of the TagDiv Box or Grid elements, only the standard VC ones.
