So I went to edit my homepage today and Visual Composer isn’t working. It won’t show anything in the backend editor, starts load and then does nothing. I’ve tried, deactivating all plugins and re-setting the cache (that what you guys say for everything), and I’ve still had update issues as I referenced yesterday (where I reset the cache and uninstalled everything as you guys always say). Not had any problems since the latest update and then all these problems at once, with very limited customer service or responses, just the same old stuff that doesn’t work.

Please try to make a new install from scratch with the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) via FTP and check how the theme is working, without any customization (default state). Probably you may have some problems with your database which create these errors.

So i need to update the entire site, and will have to redesign/re-set all my content after the update, because the VC no longer works? Is this serious?

You will have to do a full backup to your all data, according to this -> https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups I think that you are aware of your custom modifications which have made by you on your backend right? If your main domain is broken and this have not been correct customized, you will have to spare a bit of time and try to customize again the other subdomain as you like until you will achieve as you wish because this is the surest and the single method in this regard.

I have the same issue as Ollie. I am certainly not planning on reinstalling and re-customising the whole thing, it took me weeks! If I don’t find a solution, I will change themes.
I have the same problem, and like Go Angle, Im not planning reinstall and re-customising the whole site, It´s a lot of work.

I want to underline the fact that our theme is in constant development and we working hard that it to be updated with the latest version of plugins. So, I suppose that you are using the latest version of WordPress which is 4.5.2 and if you are not using the latest version of the theme, you will not bring the best results here. Also, you will have to use the latest tested version of Visual Composer (4.11.2) with the theme because if you are using an older version of it, also, you will not bring the best results and the Composer will not work. So, if you are using an older theme version of the theme and if you not planning to reinstall/update the theme to the latest version, then you will have to downgrade the WordPress and Visual Composer from an older version if you want that your theme to work as expected. Please keep in mind that for every time when Visual Composer will release a new version, we will release a new update with the latest version of the theme which is adjusted to this version of a plugin, for better results. So, if you have updated these plugins to the latest version of them and if your theme is not updated to the latest version of it, the chances are high to not working as properly.
Please keep in mind that we cannot offer support for older version of the theme, but only for the latest, because this area is in constant development and we have to keep up technologies advanced.
