The Visual Composer Slider Module or Element has suddenly broken. They were displaying posts from certain categories:

You can see the problem on our staging site:
http://clnnew.staging.wpengine.com/
http://prntscr.com/f6okib
http://prntscr.com/f6ola9

I removed three sliders from the production site:
https://cowboylifestylenetwork.com/

I would like to be able to use the Visual Composer Slider Element again.

What do I need to do to fix it?

Hello GideonLupine,

I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using a lot of untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues. Try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and check the results. Also, check your Block Settings and setup it according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

Thanks for your understanding!

I am now doing testing on our staging site:
http://clnnew.staging.wpengine.com/

What can I use for anti-brute force on the login page? Any approved captcha or recaptcha options?

What about a workable Ads Manager for WordPress that will work with your theme? I just want to put in rotating ads. Nothing fancy.

Anything from CodeCanyon like WP AdPress or Ads Pro Plugin?

Hello GideonLupine,

Please keep in mind that our theme does not have any such an option for captcha or re-captcha, sorry! You should check some plugins which have this functionality and see how it will work for you. We cannot recommend any plugin in this regard because we do not make any tests in this regard, sorry!
None of these plugins are tested with the theme and we cannot say for sure if these will work or not with the theme, sorry! You can try using the AdRotate plugin because many of our customers use it and it seems to work as expected with our product.

Thanks for your understanding!

I found the problem. It was the Google Tag Manager for WordPress Plugin.

Without using a plug in, what would be the best way to install Google Tag Manager?

Google Tag Manager asks me to do two things:

1. Paste some GTM code as high in the <head> of the page as possible.
2. Additionally, paste addtional GTM code immediately after the opening <body> tag

Hello,

I can’t say for sure unfortunately since the plugin is not tested with our theme. The head section can be found here along with the opening body section: https://www.screencast.com/t/CCTuAfdDuRTj but since the plugin is not tested, I cannot provide any implementation method for it. The only tested and recommended plugins to use with our theme are found here: https://www.screencast.com/t/sdtsXp8TBbp

Thank you!

I think you misunderstood my post.

I am NOT USING the plug-in.

I have stopped using the “Google Tag Manager for WordPress Plugin.”

Instead of using a plug-in, I want to install the Google Tag Manager manually. It operates similar to Google Analytics.

https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/quickstart

It is SECOND most installed feature of Google’s Analytic Tool Suite. Being so popular and widely used, I was hoping there would already be a set and proven method to install with your theme.

For many, not using Google Tag Manager is not an option. It must be installed.

I was asking for the best method of modifying the CHILD THEME to added the needed Google Tag Manager Code Snippets.

It has these two requirements:
1. Paste some GTM code as high in the <head> of the page as possible.
2. Additionally, paste addtional GTM code immediately after the opening <body> tag

With that said, you are saying I should copy header.php to the child theme, and modify it there? Is that correct? Is that the best method? Is there another approach?

Hello GideonLupine,

Unfortunately, we have no idea about the implementation of this plugin because this is not tested with our theme, sorry! You should read the plugin documentation and then, follow the steps which are required to do in order to achieve best results. Also, for more support for child theme, you should check our useful guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Thanks for your understanding!

Catalin, I have a question related to this. I’m using a GTM plugin called Metronet Tag Manager and it’s saying that I need to place this code right after the <body> tag…

<?php do_action( ‘body_open’ ); ?>

So with the screenshot you used earlier (https://www.screencast.com/t/CCTuAfdDuRTj), can you show me exactly where this code would go?

Hello fredyyv,

Notice that in this file is created the head section of your website and if you want to know more information about the importance of this default WordPress file, please check the following topic here -> https://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/the-headerphp-what-needs-to-go-in-it-and-what-doesnt–wp-24923 to get an idea about this.

Thanks for the message!

Catalin, I asked a specific question about where should I put that code within the body tag in the screenshot you shared. Is it that you can’t tell me or you’re not sure where it goes? I really need a specific answer that doesn’t point to somewhere else. Because if you don’t know or can’t tell me I’d rather you tell me that so I can get help from someone who can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Hello fredyyv,

Sorry for this, but please notice that your request is about implementing an untested plugin which is not covered by our support. Please notice that plugin has not been tested with our theme and also, we have no idea about their implementation in our theme, sorry! Above, I have explained you which is the role of this file (header.php) but it is possible that code <?php do_action( ‘body_open’ ); ?> do not have to be put in that section/file. Please consult the plugin documentation in order to achieve best results wit this and then, try to add that code where it is specified in the documentation. We do not know about this because we are not using this plugin, sorry! I suggest you contact the plugin’s author and ask him for more details about it because he should be able to provide a more accurate response. After you have contacted him and after you know where exactly this code should have added in our theme and if you do not know where this file are located in our theme you should ask them and we will help you with this information.

Thanks for your understanding!

All that piece of code will do is load the GTA script from the plugin. All I need to know is where to put the that code in the template file where the header code is located. I understand that the plugin hasn’t been tested. That’s not what I’m asking. All I need to know from you or someone who knows anything about the theme is where in the theme file can I put this code that will load the GTA script. Since this is the forum for this theme that’s the very least someone within your support team should know.

Hello fredyyv,

I have read the plugin documentation and there it says that the code should have to be placed after the opening <body> tag, in header.php file, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/z6awfZVDYjrN Try to do this, but please notice that plugin being an untested one, we cannot say for sure if it will work or not with the theme, sorry!

Thanks for the message!

Catalin, it seems like we are running in circles here. Let’s take it back to square one. Will it help to let you know that my site is not live and if it crashes by putting the code in the wrong place it won’t matter?

I’m only asking for suggests of where to put the code in the header.php file. Forget about that fact that it hasn’t been tested. You’ve made that clear and I totally understand that. I’m only asking you to give me suggestions on where you “think” it should go. Remember you know how this theme operates. I don’t and neither does the owner of the plugin that I’m using.

So here goes…

This is the code in the header.php file:

<head>
<meta charset=”<?php bloginfo( ‘charset’ );?>” />
<meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0″>
<link rel=”pingback” href=”<?php bloginfo( ‘pingback_url’ ); ?>” />
<?php
wp_head(); /** we hook up in wp_booster @see td_wp_booster_functions::hook_wp_head */
?>
</head>

<body <?php body_class() ?> itemscope=”itemscope” itemtype=”<?php echo td_global::$http_or_https?>://schema.org/WebPage”>

This is the code that goes somewhere in the body tag above…

<?php do_action( ‘body_open’ ); ?>

Can you please just give me some suggestions of where it should go? Remember…I’m only asking for suggestions. I don’t care that it hasn’t been tested. Just need suggestions. If my site crashes I promise I won’t blame you. It’s not even live. So can I just get some suggestions this time please? I’d really appreciate it.

Hello,

Here is the correct way to implement the code:
https://www.screencast.com/t/AN7nm25N
I cannot guarantee the plugin will work though as we have not tested it, but the correct syntax is the one mentioned.

Thanks.
