Visual Customizer / Visual Composer Update

My Visual Customizer doesn’t work.
Do I have to update my Visual Composer?

If yes, my problem is that I have Customized the theme and if I update, it will be lost.
unfortunately I am running the theme in version 1.7 🙁

I tried to install the Visual Composer plugin, but get this error:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wpb_getImageBySize() (previously declared in /var/www/vhosts/theinspiration.com/httpdocs/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/wpbakery/js_composer/composer/lib/helpers.php:15) in /var/www/vhosts/theinspiration.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/include/helpers/helpers.php on line 67

Is it possible to make an Patch update and only update this part of the theme?

The old version of the theme had VC integrated and was not a separate plugin. So only way to update was to move to newer version of theme. Current version of theme has VC as separate plugin so that people can customize it.

It’s worth it to make the move to newer theme version … speaking as somebody who got aboard the train last Fall (2013). 🙂

Hi,

A solution would be to use http://winmerge.org/ to compare your theme with the latest version of the theme and identify the modified files.
