Hello, i’m running your latest theme newspaper 6. i have notice slowness in my wordpress and when try to load the homepage, I believe is the VC plugin. Please check in your end and let me know.

In the latest theme version 6.x we have done a lot of optimization and speed improvements, and should work better with large taxonomies. I checked you site and on fronted is SUPER fast.
I know that the VC plugin had made some improvements to in the latest version, some people complain about VC speed issue in some versions.
On our side the back-end works fine, probably because we doesn’t have so many posts. We made some tests with 50k tags and categories and works pretty well.

So do you have any updates regarding the VC ? I know your code is good and optimized however your themes to work need to provide plugins from third party developers and from outside tagdive.
It’s very hard from us to pay a lots in server side optimization and one plugin to broke all.
I hope you understand this. if you come up with solution please update the ticket.

We included the latest version of Visual Composer in our latest theme update so i guess you already have it.
Please check the error log to see if there are any hidden errors reported in there.
