Are you guys coming with more shortcodes ?. I see the theme lacks basic shortcodes and I believe more shortcodes should be added. I have reported this lot of times but till now it’s not implemented. My whole idea is to use visual composer only for building homepage, in the posts I am using tinymce editor but that doesn’t include shortcodes like buttons, style icon lists, alerts etc. Whenever I have raised a question about shortcodes, I wasn’t given proper answer at all. I was told that it is added to future update list. I don’t know when will it come but I am tired of waiting. I hope someone from support team replies with positive response.

Most themes are no longer adding excessive shortcodes as these will break and “be gone” if you switch themes in future as they are tied to theme CSS.
Check out all the awesome shortcode plugins in the WP plugin repo.

Yes I understand that when i switch theme, my shortcodes are not rendered. However I am requesting the theme authors to add few shortcodes in tinymce editor or in theme. I am not asking for 100+ shortcodes, it’s just only few like proper buttons, icon lists etc.
The whole idea is to move away from VC shortcodes and use something that loads the post faster. From my end I am looking to Tinymce shortcodes.

Sorry but we have no plan on implementing more shortcodes outside the page builder as you describe. Maybe in future versions we will add more of them but for now we have no such plans. I added this request on our list for future updates but this request must become more popular as we have lots of requests and we have to prioritize.

No, right answer: the whole idea is to move away from “theme shortcodes” and use agnostic shortcodes not tied to themes. Theme shortcodes based on CSS have nothing to do with VC. Speaking as a 22 year wevdev, and 12 year WordPress dev.
Again – plenty of very simple plugins which allow you to add custom shortcodes to the editor, for things like the typical Bootstrap style buttons, wells, panels, alert boxes, etc. — all these plugins do is add some additional CSS for you for the styles you wish.
Frankly, if you learn to code with WP, you can even very simply add your own CSS shortcodes and functions in the functions.php file. There are even online shortcode generators you can use, like so: https://generatewp.com/shortcodes/

@Bogdan – That’s the same response that I received many times when i raised a question on shortcodes. Not only this question for many other question i was told the same thing and till now the features are not implemented. One thing that I want to mention here, I have seen few theme authors who create something called future updates page and there is voting option available for users. With this the users can post their feature required and others can vote if they want the same feature to be seen in the theme. Once it’s voted by many people, it will be implemented in the theme. In your case, we don’t even know what’s on your update list, there is no transparency on what is coming up in next update. I have asked this question many times but you have a standard answer template ready. As a buyer/theme user if i get to know what is coming up in next update, it would be really exciting. I just want to suggest few things to improve the theme but it’s not heard at all.

Thank you for your example. For the moment we do not have such a system in place. It is up to the developers to decide if we will implement a request form such as the one you exemplify. Until such time we can only add the requests to our list and pass the info on to the dev’s. They decide what gets implemented and what doesn’t.
