Website won't respond to changes to "Post and custom post types" settings +MORE

Dear community,

(1)I recently installed a demo from the Newspaper Theme to my website. I would like opt out of as many as possible in “Post and custom post types” menu. Whenever I uncheck all or some of the options, it will not change anything on what is displayed on the post on the website. Is this a bug?

So on the page of all the posts, it will still continue to display category tags, author name, date, post views etc. despite having it disabled.

I’m using the NewsPaper theme on wordpress.com since that is my host.

(2) So I have been installed and uninstalling the demos hundreds of times. Sometimes, I do get these dead links “about us” and “follow us” on the bottom of the website. I can’t remove it and I can’t make them clickable links. Does anyone know what’s causing this?

I’m having the same issue. Can’t get rid of the author box at the bottom of the post page no matter what I save or do.
