Hi
Ive had newspaper installed for several months and love it. Ive been busy with other projects so not updated the theme for about 2 months.
Just downloaded the latest update and installed and it crashed!
I then removed that new version and reinstalled the backup but its not right!
The site is http://www.kentparents.co.uk
Parts of the site are ok – like this http://www.kentparents.co.uk/category/classes/ but the homepage and other parts just have this message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function vc_shortcode_custom_css_class() in /home/parents/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/vc_templates/vc_row.php on line 30
Can you help??
Thanks
Lee
Check around the 3.7 update. Visual Composer was removed as a build-in and changed to a plugin within Newspaper. The normal update process does not apply. As mentioned here https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/visual-composer-stop-working-after-update-to-latest-newspaper-version-3-8-1/
AH! Yes… in fact, I just did this same upgrade process to my 2 sites running theme on Friday. Went perfectly. Just over-wrote files via FTP, then deleted the one old bakery folder, installed plugins, then over-wrote my mods to the functions.php and style.css, and two module files, single-loop file, done. Everything worked!
Hi,
@Christopher Simmons Thanks for your post.
@lee freeman
You need to update the theme to the latest version (3.9.2 replace all files via FTP)
Then make sure you follow this steps to update the Visual Composer plugin:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/#vanish
If this dose not solve the issue please let me know.
Thanks

Hi,
That error comes from Advanced Browser Check plugin, you can find a fix for this issue here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-browser-check/faq/
