What is the easy way to find the release notes for Newspaper updates?

Because of the changes I have made to the theme, I need to see the release notes before updating the theme so I can make sure nothing is overwritten and/or broken.

Where can I consistently find the release notes of each Newspaper update? I get an email alert from Envato Market but I can never find any info on the new changes.

Thanks.

Found with each new theme download, in the changelog files 🙂

I use the wordpress portal to update the theme so I prefer not to have to download the theme every single time again, just to access the changelog. Is there another place that these updates are posted?

Not that I know of. You should be downloading copies of each update to keep as back up in case you need to revert to a prior version, to have the plugins, and the help files included in the “all files” download, which includes the changelog.

Also, if you go to bottom of the theme page on ThemeForest, a simple changelog is found there; as well as single link to recent changed files, which I think is this one

(( I don’t work here ))

Great, thanks for your time with that info. The files that are actually modified is really key for me.

I actually updated without realising that it would revert all my changes as I have made a lot of modifications. So I am going through changing everything all over again (but faster to do this time). Lots of things are broken on my site as a result of the patch, including the log in process for example.

However, my site is not live yet (i have a deadline for this weekend) as I have been working on it for the past couple of week. I estimate that by updating my theme with this patch, I have added about 4-6 hours of work to reconfigure my own changes, as I didn’t note down what I did previously. This is a good learning experience for me for updating the theme in the future when the site is live.

Luckily there is option to export your custom settings from theme, but not changes made to core files. This is why FTP is best as you can keep local copies, make changes then upload over the working theme, and if anything not working, go back to safe template that you worked on until you dial it in.

But that’s just me … 🙂
