What is the Optimal Image Size to use?

Hi,

What is the optimal image size for me to upload to wordpress that would look great for all images around the site?

I also would like to set the Media Settings in WordPress to the proper ratios. For Thumbnail, Medium Size and Large Size. What should this be?

For the small/medium/large — set them to the module sizes you plan to use the most.

For the featured image in post, we’ve chosen to do everything 640xXX with 640×400 being typical, but for movie reviews, for instance with widescreen stuff those are 640×280.

One more question. I like to get the feature image for default style post settings to go edge to edge like style 3. How do I do this?

WordPress cannot enlarge thumbs; perhaps try adding the “thumbnail upscale” plugin which helps with WP for cropping to fit.

No sorry that was not the question. But I appreciate the response. I would just like the default style post title – where the title doesn’t go into the sidebar side – with the large 681 image of the post style #3 – where the image size is 681 wide.
