What Setup for the Forums?

Hey guys –

Might be lazy to just ask but I’ve searched a little and lot of posts here mention forums, so I’m asking.

What is the setup you guys use for these forums? Toyed with BBPress a good bit but never came close to it running as well as these forums run. Even the design on Newspaper and NewsMag doesn’t match what’s used here.

Nice setup. Works so smoothly for over a year. Would love some tips to get forums working like these support forums.

Hi,

We use here a custom modified theme based on bbpress. Unfortunately it has lots of customizations and we’re constantly maintaining it and I can’t provide you guidance on this but basically you need to optimize the server performance (we use a dedicated server), optimize database performance and look for plugins to improve the appearance and functionality of the forum. Custom modification are also required to tweak various areas.
