What's the proper image size?

As you can see the images aren’t completely filling the top Block (1 Large image, 4 small images) below the Main Navigation Bar. There’s gray space. Why is this? or What is the proper image size that will solve this issue while still being the proper size for the featured image on article page?

Please regenerate your thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/ the image should be displayed fine after that. Here are the image sizes used for big grid: http://screencast.com/t/1xwyhlZ2 If you want to change or add a new thumb size you can do this in td_config.php file: http://screencast.com/t/b1OLrauQj and they are called in the modules files: http://screencast.com/t/aavXltoc4bU
