Hi. How does one edit the block that fills the 2/3 column of the default sidebar? The default version seems locked on latest posts and I would like to change that.
Hello mikeC_Oakland,
Check the Widgets section from WordPress Settings -> https://www.screencast.com/t/0C0hIdK9
Thanks for your understanding!
No, that’s not it. I know how to edit the sidebars and have made those changes. But when the default widgetized sidebar is used on a page, it automatically adds a three-column block to the page, with a list in the other 2 columns. I need to know where that block is so that I can change what it chooses to load.
Hi. I can’t seem to paste a screenshot here. In any case, the part that I’m having trouble with is the Page Attributes setting in Edit Page. The newsmag demo content front page has a setting of “Pagebuilder + latest articles + pagination.” Other options are “Default Template” and “Pagebuilder + page title.” Where can I change and/or edit those options in that menu?
Hello mikeC_Oakland,
Please keep in mind that the Latest Articles section can be changed from the bottom of the page when you edit it, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3pFPJQwQjhD
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi, Catalin. Thank you for your response. Actually, your screenshot shows exactly what I’m trying to understand. Notice that the grayed out example of the page shows the latest posts next to the sidebar. How/Where can you change that layout. It’s the default layout when one chooses “Default Sidebar.” But what if you want to use the default sidebar, but not latest posts?
Which leads to the other question about this: where does one edit the template for these automatically-generated post pages. I don’t mean in the theme panel; I know how that works. But where can you actually edit the template pages?
Hello mikeC_Oakland,
The default Sidebar structure can be changed from Widgets section area.
Notice that the Posts Loop can be changed from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/CFsi48q6nkG
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
Hi there,
I’m having the same issue – I’m unable to edit the default sidebar widgets. I’ve tried adding/deleting widgets as well as creating a new sidebar and setting that as the sidebar for posts, but still, the same default sidebar with the wrong Instagram and social media stats show up.
