which file to add code to that needs to apply to the whole website?

I have a <script type=”text/javascript”> type code that needs to appear in all my pages and posts. I was told putting it within the template before the</body> would be the best idea. So which file should I put it in?

Resolved. It worked putting the code in the html text widget.
