I have used the fevicon of proper size ( 16*16) and have also uploaded all kinds of logos/fevicons for different screen sizes based on the recommended size. But for the most of the time , my website’s fevicon appears distorted. Have a look at this screenshot for my website tomatoheart.com . It never happened before with my old theme.

I have checked your Favicon for more than 1 tab in my browser and everything seems to be right displayed, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/DnOd0J32 Please ensure that you are using the latest version of your Browsers and also, try to clear all your cache and browser cache and check the results.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes! I can see that all the favicons on your browser is appearing right. Though I am using the latest Google Chrome version. But as far my visitors are getting is right. I have no issues. 🙂

Just as FYI: Theme has nothing to do with the favicon rendering. Best bet is to simply make sure you have your favicon.ico, and optional Apple precomposed icons, sitting in the root of your site, where all browsers will “look” for them by default.

Big fan of yours. Happy to get a reply from you 🙂 By your comment, I think I should first convert the favicon in .ico format ( currently in .png format) and then find the default locations ( I am not sure where I should look for it on a Managed WordPress hosting site) and then upload these icons there.
