How can I add widgets to the home page? Any widget that inserts the field does not print on the page.

Hello cucadigital,
You should use the Widgetised sidebar element from TD Composer and from there you can set up any widget you want. Check here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ze0cHeALXV
