Hi,
I am finding an issue where widgets and sidebars are not displaying as they should. I am using the default settings for all posts and pages, and adding widgets to the Newspaper default sidebar – they are not displaying on Category or the actual article post page.
An example of this would be “Contextual Related Posts” widget. When added to sidebar of pages it is not displaying. Would this be clashing with the theme’s in-built related posts function ?
It appears that it is often necessary after adding a widget to have to go into each posts and page and just “update” the post or page to get anything to display correctly in the sidebar.
I am also seeing that widgets that have been added are not appearing in Visual Composer, even after checking all the settings in Visual Composer.
Any ideas ?

For pages if you use the default template, the sidebar will not be displayed automatically, you will have to use Widgetised Sidebar block and set the sidebar that you want to display – http://screencast.com/t/d7GcirmcZ
For post pages please note that you can set a general sidebar from Theme Panel > Template Settings – http://screencast.com/t/Q6oRBR7VZ This general setting will be overwritten if you use a custom sidebar for categories – http://screencast.com/t/HWcKhV4wUi means that all articles from this specific category will have the category sidebar. Also if you set a custom sidebar for a specific post will overwrite all panel settings – http://screencast.com/t/wRlYzW8z
Maybe the plugin can be used only from Widgets section. In this case you can create a custom sidebar, add the widget into it from Appearance > Widgets and use Widgetised Sidebar block to display it in a page content.
