Widgets – Randomly Removing or Restoring Old Content

I am noticing my widgets are randomly removing content that I add or restoring older versions of themselves at random. This started happening with the latest update running on WP 4.4.

Anyone else seeing this?

It happened again!

All of the text blocks I added into my sidebar widgets have been deleted as of this morning.

I have created a lot of custom sidebars using the Theme Panel. These all appear in the widget list, and can then be assigned to pages or categories.

For some reason all of my widget content is being removed. Please help!

I have just noticed now that the widget content is not being removed, but being moved to the “Inactive Widgets” area.

Hi

I am not sure why this happens but you can try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, just to make sure there is no conflict between some plugins, clear all caches and test again.

I believe I have identified a plugin that is now defective after 4.4 WP. This issue can be closed.

Please try to deactivate all your plugins except visual composer and check the issue again. If the problem goes away it means it’s a plugin conflict and you have to identify the one causing the issue.
