Hi – they have announced WordPress 5.0 is shipping on 19th November. Gutenberg will become official at that point so can I ask the Tagdiv team what the plan is around support and compatibility. I’m sure this is top of the mind for a lot of your customers now.
Thanks,
Stephan Whelan

I started to experiment with Gutenberg and it seems cool for what I do. So far I only found a small issue that made me revert to the original editor. On my theme the captions under the images are left aligned, but on a post edited with Gutenberg they are centred. I could not find a solution for it. 🙁
Please keep us posted if there is any progress on this topic.
Thanks,
Tamas
Over here, we’ve chosen to skip the Gutenberg roll-out until it’s more mature and won’t permanently break/damage/change existing posts/dbase content, etc. (anybody remember when the old tag format went belly up and hundreds/thousands of posts with [tag] at bottom of every post?). We are using the ‘keep classic editor’ plugin, from Automattic, for the time being.
I would highly recommend folks “test” the new plugin on a non-critical site before messing with your main site, and also make full backups of the dbase, site via ftp, and not rely on the ‘export’ function of WP which is dodgy on critical restores.
Food for thought anyway. (Mr. paranoia over here!) 😉
