WordPress 5.8 – blank Widgets-Site in backend

Hello,

just updated one Site whith Newspaper 11 and the new Gutenberg-Widegt-Area are blank now. Can not see any widgets. All is fine in the frontend but i am not able to edit widgets anymore.
Do Newspaper 11 support the new Widget-Area?
Or do we need to install the Classic-Widget-Plugin from the WordPress-Team? If so, do you plan to migrate to the new Gutenberg-Widgets?

Hello,

the Classic Widget Plugin does the job. All ist working fine till now.

Nevertheless, I am somewhat disappointed. I thought that a big company tests its theme for compatibility of future WordPress versions. Especially when such big updates in WordPress are coming.

Well, I am curious when to expect an update.
