I am still fairly new to working with Newspaper and TagDiv Composer, and we have not yet launched the website using the theme, so I do not know if this is working as intended or not.
When using TagDiv Composer and the Column Text element, if I insert a WordPress Gallery or insert an image with a caption, it does not display in TagDiv Composer; instead, it shows the [gallery] and [caption] short code with all the details. The caption is even stranger because it will show the image properly, but it will show the short tag around the image.
In addition, the galleries do not appear at all in the TinyMCE editor (accessed from the Column Text element). They show as a blank white area, but the short tags appear in the code editor.
When the page is published, the images show properly, but it is difficult to get the positioning correct in TagDiv Composer with it working in this way.
Is this just how TagDiv Composer works with these features, or is this a bug that can be fixed?

Only when the page is saved and viewed the gallery will be visible. Also the image caption is displayed like this

That would be the behaviour of these elements in the composer.

Are there any plans to improve this functionality? Getting the galleries positioned correctly is difficult when they are invisible.
I don’t think there are any plans to make changes in this matter. There would be more pressing issue sat the moment. I will make a note of this on our list, maybe in the future it will be considered. Sorry for the inconvenience.
