Hello,
I’ve been using your theme for few months now, and it’s great. But I noticed one problem – on pages create by wpbakery visual composer, WordPress SEO doesn’t work. When I enter title and meta description, and click Save, I get blank fileds for both Title and Meta description.
Also, when I try to update wpbakery visual composer plugin it asks for Envato Username, Secret API Key and Visual Composer License Key?
You can’t update visual composer as you don’t get a license to the commercial version when buying the theme; you get the bundled version which is a group license, which is owned by the theme technically. SO, you update VC by updating to latest version of theme. The current version of theme has latest version of VC.
I’m not having any issue with VC built pages (e.g., home page) with Yoast SEO. I have not used “WordPress SEO.” With Yoast you can specify “force write” to sometimes deal with a pesky plugin. With the SEO tool you’re using, you might check the plugin developer’s support for any known issues with Visual Composer.
Hello Christopher,
I am talking about SEO by Yoast plugin (full name of a plugin is WordPress SEO by Yoast). Force rewrite is turned on, and still can’t save my meta data.
What is interesting, I can save meta data for homepage, also build with VC, but not for any other page.
Hi,
Thanks Christopher!
I have tested the plugins title and descriptions on a page build with VC and there seems to work just fine using the themes latest version(4.0.2).
Make sure you use the latest version of the theme and try disabling some plugins also.
About VC, the plugin will be included at it’s latest version on each theme update.
Thanks
If I purchase Visual Composer through Envato, thus generating a Visual Composer License Key for managing VC updates, will this cause a problem for my Newspaper theme down the road? Thanks!
Hi,
You can purchase it if you want, but we haven’t tested how theme works with a version newer than the one we include in the theme update so please make a backup of your theme before updating the plugin or wait until the next update and we will include the plugins update also.
Thanks
So I updated to the latest version of Newspaper but keep getting there is an update to the WPBakery composer. I understand how the license works, but is this correct that as of 8/1/2014, Newspaper version 4.1 is only compatible with WPBakery version 4.2.3? Meaning the update to WPBakery version 4.3.1 is not included?
Well, if v 4.3.1 came out August 1 (today), and the theme was updated couple of days ago, it’s hardly possible for the version that shipped July 29 to have the version of the plugin that was released August 1. So, presumably, as noted before, the next version of Newspaper will have the updated version of plugin. 🙂
