It was NOT

WP 5.0.3 update is DIFFERENT from 5.0.2 in a critical way — Gutenberg Block editor is now DEFAULT
Going to ADD + Pages with this Update from WP NO LONGER DISPLAYS the
TD Composer Button above the Page Content window.

I just did a local host install on my Mac laptop after trying this on my Windows development machine to see if I got the same result locally as I reported a few days ago with my Online Newsmag install.

I did
Completely virgin database, php, 5.0.3 WP download, fresh install of Newsmag 4.7

The Gutenberg Block editor for Pages is the default and today I cannot even find a link in the Edit options to restore the Classic Editor for WP.

And again — the tagDiv Composer Blue button does not display in the Gutenberg editor.

I had to go to this link Disable Gutenberg Editor to see TD Composer button

Once I installed the plugin and activated it to restore the WP Classic Editor to my WP 5.0.3 installation THEN the TD Composer button re-appeared and Worked as normal.

Hi,

You need to use the Classic Editor plugin to hide the Gutenberg layout/style. Remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer your setup page. Provide there the link to this topic so we can quickly identify you.

Thanks for the message!

this is True
Since WP 5.0.3 —

You need to use the Classic Editor plugin to hide the Gutenberg layout/style.

This is what I reported.

Without that Classic Editor plugin installed and activated on a WP 5.0.3 + installation TD Composer can NOT be used because the Blue TD Composer button will not be displayed in the Add New or Edit Page view.

My situation was not a bug — it was, as they say, a FEATURE, so to speak, of WordPress’s CHANGE with version 5.0.3 to simply install Gutenberg as the Default Page & Post editor with no Option link to switch to Classic Editor anymore.

To use the TD Composer plugin WITH 5.0.3 Gutenberg block editing CORE is not possible.

Perhaps you can make changes in the TD Composer plugin in the future to temporarily override Gutenberg so that TD Composer plays nicely with Gutenberg?

At any rate, thankfully, I discovered the stand-alone Classic Editor plugin last week and NOW TD Composer works fine.

Thank you, Catalin

Also good idea to review the changelog for each new version of WordPress before updating; as the ‘classic editor’ was noted as recommended with WP 4.9 for those who needed to maintain compatibility while testing to see if theme would work with 5.0 where Gutenberg was enabled as default.

Some folks are using TD Composer with Gutenberg, since Gutenberg is primarily for ‘posts’ while TD Composer is primarily for ‘pages’ …… just so you know; they can work together.
