I read what you wrote about the WP Super Cache on mobile devices – “External plugin or theme required” – and also the FAQ associated.
The doubt that I have is: that means that, in order that the cache is applied also on mobile devices, I also will have to install an extra plugin? If the answer is “yes”, I ask what do you recommend (in terms of compatibility with Newspaper) of those 4 that are listed on the FAQ of the plugin (Jetpack’s Mobile Theme Module / WPTouch / WordPress Mobile Edition / WordPress Mobile Pack).

The only tested plugin regarding on memory cache is WP Super Cache and it should be installed a single date (mobile/desktop). If is not what you mean, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

This caching plugin is compatible with the mobile devices, but if you are using the Mobile Theme, please notice that you should make some changes for a better working. This could be a problem from wp super cache and not the browser. If you use the plugin, please use this method to fix the issue:
Use this link and add the customization as marked here: https://github.com/Automattic/wp-super-cache/pull/185/files
Edit wp-cache-phase1.php and add the green code from the right column as it shows there.
