Seems there is a different code which overrides the theme icon

I believe that is originating from your child theme stylesheet. Remove it from there since it is not needed. Then the icon will display properly

So please clear the browser cache and check the results. Force refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R).

Please remove this code from the child theme

It is overriding the default theme code for the Xing icon, there is no need for that code anymore. Remove it and it will look like this
