Your advice on layout composition

Hello everyone,

I need your advice: how can I combine blocks and modules with Newspaper in order to get some featured posts (the most recent ones) and some other posts, the older ones, this way? (the linked site is mine, by the way!)

What I do is for “older” post, I created a category called “editor’s picks” … and then any old story I want to be featured on the front page (and/or sidebar), you can control which items from “the past” would show up by enabling a content block just for “Editor’s Picks”. This is the most common solution for this.

I didn’t mean how to do to feature old posts, actually. I meant how to get a layout like the one I’m getting in my site with its current template…

Hi,

You can use the header Style 4 - menu + (logo + ad) http://screencast.com/t/76Vzeb1b8b
Then use the page-homepage-loop.php template, this way you will get the articles list below the page builder, but you can change this and put the articles list in before page builder.

Just follow this steps:

Thanks Lucian,

I thought it was possible to get to the result just using blocks and modules, not changing code (it will be lost at every theme update). Never mind, I will use the theme like this. Not very exciting, but it works.
