I had the same problem… would be useful to post the fix if possible as I’ve reverted back to 3.8.4 http://blog.blueventures.org

hi pixelfreak

you should be able to get the latest version from your downloads area on themeforest.

You can ignore this, I’ve rolled back to 3.8.3 until the theme is updated.

Thanks for the help, it’s appreciated πŸ™‚

Thanks for the update, that does work better πŸ˜€

Oh yeah – there was another post somewhere with that.

I think

.td_block_mega_menu .td_block_inner {
height: 350px;
}

should do it (changing the height to whatever you need of course).

Cheers,

Martin

Hi Dean,

I had this issue too – the following might help you fix it.

Thanks Radu,

I can follow the instructions as provided but it doesn’t do what my client wants so I’ll need to look to get external help I think.

Thanks for all the support πŸ™‚

Just giving this a little boost – maybe Marius or Radu have some thoughts on whether it’s possible to stop the ‘more stories’ covering the footer?

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Marius,

Thanks so much for getting back to me and offering a solution. My clients are hell bent on getting a category icon showing up over the image though, I don’t think this will pacify them!

Do you think this is something an external developer could do or is the structure of the theme too complex? Anyone you could recommend?

Thanks,

Martin

Perfect!

Thanks πŸ™‚

Hi Azerty,

I haven’t used this setting but use a custom font from fontdeck. If you install the demo data I guess it might help you get to grips with how the theme fits together.

Good luck!

Thanks Christopher πŸ™‚

I’ll definitely take a look at the plugin. It is easy enough to style in keeping with the theme in your experience?

Hi Azerty,

The demo uses Ubuntu for the menu, Oswald for the main home page slider titles, Roboto condensed for other titles (eg don’t miss and story titles) and PTsans for the body text.

If you use chrome browser you can install an extension like WhatFont which is a really easy way to identify fonts used.

Cheers,

Martin

scrap that – it works!

Thanks πŸ™‚

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I’m aware of the on/off possibility and of course users can close the box if they want, I would just think it’s not an unreasonable request to have it not obscure the footer.

The social share floating element I’m using (WPMU) for example (the development site is at martinmuir.com/blueventures/) has this option – you can set the height it stops at so it doesn’t cover footer content. Just seems to make sense to me πŸ™‚

Anyway, like I say thanks for the comment – I’ve learned a lot from your replies on other threads and appreciate more than just the devs working to make the forums better πŸ™‚

I’ve also figured out how to add extra subcategories…

For info for others looking for this info…

in Themes/newspaper/includes/wp_booster/ find the file td_menu.php

edit the ‘array’ and ‘show child cat’ fields (as shown below) to your desired value (here I changed from 5 to 8)

to order the sub categories I used Category Order plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/taxonomy-terms-order/

Cheers,

Martin

I’ve sorted the sub category order using a plugin.

I really need to be able to show 8 sub categories though – is this possible?

academicdigital

I tried this but the top menu is just hanging in the middle now – not sure it’s picking up the custom css?

Hi Radu,

I would like to display the post category on the featured image on block 3, as happens already with the slide block. Maybe it’s easier to show pictures.

Slide block showing category

Block 3 not showing category

Hope that makes more sense?

Thanks for your support,

Martin
