Well as always, you find the solution 2 minutes after you posted. I found out that I have to change post template from default to one of the recommended options.

Solved it! The problem was that the there was a dead link to the mobile background image in the theme settings. Apparently the script for the menu was not active until the page has loaded completely.

It seems as if I activate the mobile theme, I am able to get the mobile menu to work. I can change menu option from mobile theme-settings in the admin panel (and from the checkbox in the menu settings).

I want to use sliders and some other plugin features on the mobile version site, so it would be best if I could have an identical version as the desktop version. But what seems really strange is that when I deactivate the mobile theme the menu doesn’t slide out. The page just zooms out as before. All plugins except visual composer is deactivated.
