Problem solved… I deleted the block on the startpage that kept repeating the news. Then I added a new block and gave it the same settings. Voila!

Hi,
the unique articles feature was not enabled on the start page. But just to make sure I did Enable and Disable again, and also did empty the cache. But it made no difference.
Any other ideas of what could cause the problem?
