Please understand, I am not complaining or telling you that you are wrong. I have no clue how Pinterest works. I am sharing with you that when using the theme sharing feature, Pinterest only grabs the image on my site. When I replace the theme sharing feature with sharify, or Mashshare, it work like expected. Well almost, Mashshare is pulling up every image to choose from except the featured image. My open graph meta tags are parsed correctly according to Facebook, so I doubt it is a meta tag problem.

Anyways my friends, I have let you know the issue. I don’t have time to continue working on this. My fix worked.

Well all I know is that the picture was all that was showing. You had to manually add any other details. I used the title for the description. Like I said, I am not a coder, but every Pinterest sharing plugin I have used has always put the title in the description under the picture.

Unfortunately my screenshot program doesn’t take shots of popups or I would show you what I am talking about, however it is the text section directly under the picture.

Thank you for responding back. I am not a coder so I am not sure where to put that code. I can find basic stuff but not sure where to place it in the single.php and if there are mods for specific templates.

I do think it is good that you are placing it on the suggestion list. Every Pinterest share button I have used in the last 4 years, has placed the title of the post in the description. I am satisfied with the solution I came up with but I do think it would serve your customers well to add this feature to the Pinterest share button. It also would be nice to have a few additional sharing options like reddit, stumbleupon, linkedin ect.

Actually, the site had been verified for a long time. I recently switched it to this theme. So that wasn’t the issue.

I replaced the share code in the php for template 11 since that is the one I use for all my posts, with the sharify plugin placing its php code in the same position. It solved the problem. So I think this is probably a bug in the theme share plugin.

Hi and thanks for the suggestion, but I do not have either the top or bottom like/tweet enabled. I don’t like the old style buttons and they are redundant when you have the sharing enabled.

So the answer for me was to enable the like/tweet at the bottom but not the top. Still it would be nice to be able to get rid of the old style like/tweet buttons that are redundant.
