Ah, Visual composer must be active for Newspaper to work 🙂

re-activated, the [Vc] code snippets gone (duh)

Still no social icons… odd spacing issues…

Disabled visual composer.

Social icons came back.

Many more odd code snippets now appear as text on my page…

considering wiping it all and reinstalling Newspaper and never turning on visual composer
