Thanks very much @Andrei L @Bogdan

i) Now Logo in scrolling menu looks perfect. Please could we bring the menu img text align to middle. At the moment it is on top as per your screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/pgp6C8U5ll

ii) For 404 error page.. it is the entire div that you have highlighted in top arrow to be hidden.

Only the ”
Ooops… Error 404
Sorry, but the page you are looking for doesn’t exist.
You can go to the HOMEPAGE

text should be displayed

Hi Bogdan,

Thanks for your reply.

The issue is with mobile menu layout only. Screenshot below:-

Please look into it

Hello Bogdan,

Thanks for the screenshot.

I had a quick look. Please could you tell me where this “No Posts to display” code is placed inside theme folder.

Regards,
George

Sorry for bothering – But I ran couple of quick tests and following were the results:-

i) User profiles are created as Author only.

ii) To validate 0 posts scenario much deeper, I deleted all posts of an existing Author.
To my surpise, “Page not found” error message came back.

The theme should have supplied <b> “If you use the theme login widget it will work as expected and send you to the author page even if the author has no posts created”<b>

Please can you try at your end and post a screenshot.

Thanks!

Thank you Bogdan for the extensive description.

“If you use the theme login widget it will work as expected and send you to the author page even if the author has no posts created.”

Please could you advise where above mentioned validation code is placed in Newspaper Theme. I’d give a try to modify to place in archive page.

Thanks!

An update:- I’ve commented the gradient div html code. Now it looks as expected.

Thanks!

Catalin – I’ve commented out the header logo and menu code. But 404 page still displays a gradient line.

Hello Bogdan,

Added them to .htaccess but no luck 🙁

I expected this php extension to be ripped off from url

Any other suggestions please.

George.

Thank you Bogdan.

The code worked as expected but suddenly I notice this.

Screenshot:-

http://www.screencast.com/t/SnYMZ2lgV00

All items are at the verge of touching page top and Avatar image hanging out in different line.

Can we push all the items to avatar’s horizontal line. In that way the menu would look better.

Thanks!

Hello Bogdan,

Thanks for your reply.

I happened to raise same concern with another wordpress team WPMU (They suppport me for couple of wp plugins)

URL: http://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/wordpress-author-archive-page-not-found-message-displayed#post-998359

His suggestion looks like a much of miss out from theme side.

I’m not much into technical code. I’d appreciate some help from your technical team on this.

Please can you speak to Alin or Catalin or someone who is best on code.

My requirement is that if the Author has no posts, simply a “No Posts” text in Author Archive Page will suffice.

But this 404 error is not the one I’d expect the users to see!

George.

That plugin would redirect to a different page. But Ideally I’d expect a message in Author page to say ” To get started please click Post option”.

The above should be applicable for Author with zero posts only and I’m looking for assistance in editing core theme file.

Thanks Catalin. The screenshot helped a lot.

Apologies, please could you clear cache and try with chrome browser.

I logged in this morning and there were no troubles.

Thanks!

Hello Bogdan,

The login issue happened due to Newspaper theme update. It might have impacted theme functions.

Just reverted back the whole code. Please could you check now.

Thanks!

Hi Bogdan,

Tried this today.
The plugin is really helpful for single link whilst the display name link will change based on logged in user.

@Alin
@Bogdan please could you advise if core wordpress can be corrected to see this Change or a wordpress theme functions.

Kindly advice.
