One more question: can I add the category name on the post thumbnail, like it shows on Newsmag?

Hello,

That fixes part of my problem. As you can see here http://g.recordit.co/9PMzYHAV5d.gif, it doesn’t work when the homepage is currently selected – the icon remains black. Also, a nitpick, the code you provided works only when I’m directly over the icon itself. Can that be fixed?
