This user did not write anything. So we are just showing here some random text to make the profile page look nice :)

Ah, got it, managed to do the same with visual composer. For some reason when I tried previously it wasn’t previewing correctly, but once I hit publish everything looks great. Thanks 🙂

So WordPress is actually generating these extra pages with numbers at the end of the URL? I guess it makes sense to me what you’re saying about being able to add any numbers to the end of the URL, I’m just not clear on how Google ends up indexing URLs that should only exist hypothetically.

That worked, thanks! I assume I’ll have to remove the code once the larger fix is pushed out in an update?

That’s strange. I tried deactivating the plugins and clearing the cache, and it had no effect.

I haven’t added any custom code, and don’t’ use a child theme. I did use the beauty blog settings during setup of the theme, so that shows up in “custom body classes” in the theme panel, but I haven’t edited any code, if only because I really wouldn’t know what I’m doing.

I don’t suppose there’s an easy way to fix this?

Thanks for the screenshot. For whatever reason, when I mouse over or go to an author page, it doesn’t work like your screenshot and show the words user ID in the url (or any numbers at all). I’d checked before thinking that maybe there was a number associated with each author, and came here when I couldn’t find anything in the author page URL.

BUT I googled it and found the suggestion to click on/ mouse over the number of posts for the author, and it did show me the author ID there. So, problem solved.

It’s in staging while I make changes, so I don’t think I can link to it.

This is how the author box appears, even when I input an author name into the settings and hit save:

author box

And this is the settings box, with one of the author names added to the field (I’ve tried all author names on my site, and none of them bring up any info or the gravatar when input):

So what I am missing to get the author box to display an author’s info?

Thanks!

Ok, scratch that, it just took about an hour to update it seems.

New question: how can I remove the default “About Us” and “Follow Us” text in the footer of the mobile theme?
