This is pretty vital information. In this case, the users who faithfully have followed your guidelines for updating the sites will not be able to make adjustments to the mobile theme, because they do not have the standard pack any more.
As long as the mobile theme is dependent on the standard pack to be adjusted, you must either make that clear in the documentation or move those settings to the mobile theme settings menu.

But I beg you: Can you please read the support issue before answering?
I know very well that the mobile theme is a different version only for mobile. I have used this system on several sites for years. That is not the problem. On this site for instance, I use the mobile theme only on AMP pages.

The extra items on the AMP page was removed when you “checked” because I fixed them with custom code, due to the fact that you did not answer my yesterday 4pm reply. I have removed my custom code now so you can check again:

Please, please review the full support inquiry before answering, and I will be as specific as i can:
The unwanted extra items (breadcrumbs, tags, author, prev/next, author box, etc) do not appear on the mobile AMP pages on my other sites ( example: https://playpager.com/domino-game/?amp ). They only appear on this new site. On the other sites I have no custom code to remove the items, yet they are gone. Why do they show up and clutter the pages on the new site and not the old ones?

I Know that I can remove them by entering my own custom code, but it is really bad practice to use more code than absolutely necessary. And it is a sign that something is wrong when otherwise identical codebases act differently.

“the ‘latest articles’ section at the bottom of the page only shows 3 links and no images. (It should show 12 links with images, according to my settings.)”
Can you please adress this issue too? (I know that I can remove the section with code if I want to)

No, I am using AMP (“Uses the responsive version on the small screen devices and Mobile Theme only on AMP”), just like on this site:

The problem only occurs on AMP pages (mobile theme). Why do all the extra items (breadcrumbs, tags, author, etc.) show up on the mobile AMP theme?

If a field for amp-status does not appear: Click “Add Custom Field” and fill inn Name “amp_status” Value “disabled”

Solved: The amp-setting and various other items for a spesific post can be found in the post editor by activating the “Show more tools & options” in upper right corner (three dots) – then select “Options” – then tick “Custom Fields”. The settings will appear at bottom of page, below the post editor.

“More articles box” at bottom of post pages are not showing images either.

As you might know, most web traffic is done by smart phones now. According to Google Analytics, 92% of our readers are on mobile.
The mobile theme is essential. The responsive Newspaper version (without mobile theme plugin) is too slow on phones, and get a 16% falloff due to page download time.
Yet, it seems you put ALL your work and effort into developing new items for the big screen version of Newspaper. Why don’t you prioritize the mobile version when the largest amount of traffic by far is on mobile?
The mobile theme works great, but it would be nice with some more features (e.g. 2-coloumn possibility?). At least, you should make sure the mobile theme is on top and work properly. Turning it off is not an option for a huge traffic site.
I would love to hear your thoughts.

I found the problem and it’s a severe incompability issue between wp super cache and mobile theme.
If the first visitor to a post is on a mobile, the post will work well with mobile theme for later users.
But if the first visitor to a post is on a desktop, the next mobile user will get the cached desktop verision.
Is this something tagDiv is looking into, or should mobile theme users turn off wp super cache?

But I am not talking about the theme headers in the “parts” directory.
The header.php is in the root directory and is not listed in the child theme documentation.
Can I just pop in a header.php file in the child theme?

I have added some code in the header.php.
But what happens with the header.php when the theme is updated?
Is header.php replaced in each update, so that I have to insert my <head> code again after every update?
