Could you give me any estimate on why this bug will finally be solved? A working custom css for now would be fine too of course.
I’m very disappointed to see the new version 10 still has not solved the ‘Video popup’ bug in a button where it still scrolls all the way up to the top of the website when the video pops up. I reported this bug back in March.
Other than that, it’s good to see this major update to the theme 🙂
Hi Vlad,
The custom code doesn’t work. Do you expect the bug to be solved with the next update? I can wait for the new update it will be fixed by then.
On my end the bug is still there. I run version 9.8. I just made the test page below so you can see the bug for yourself.

So when you click on the button on a desktop the page scrolls back to the top (though the video player is displayed correctly), and as soon as you close the video the page skips back to where you were on the page.
And on mobile it also scrolls back to the top, but the video player isn’t in view any more so you have to scroll down all the way to where the button is located to see the video overlay.
So basically the same as it was on March 15.
Hope to hear from you 🙂 Thanks!
The bug mentioned in this topic about the button video pop-up bug on mobile (the browser scrolling all the way up, and having to scroll down to see the video) unfortunately still exists and it has been 3 updates later already without a fix (as far as I can see). I have lots of pages planned for release on October 1st, and all those pages are structured in such a way that the video pop-up button plays an important role.
I hope to hear from you!
Hi Vlad, I thought your code solved the problem, but it actually caused another problem. As you can see in the 2 screenshots on the link below the problem is solved on the pages/posts where the menu used to overlay the title on mobile (portrait). But now it has a big extra chunk of menu on all the other pages. So I had to remove the custom css.
Any thoughts?
Hi Vlad,
I checked the Zone Specific Parameters and for all 4 viewports is already was on Default. So I tried the custom css your provided and it works perfectly.
Thanks!
Thanks a bunch 🙂
Thanks for your response Catalin. In the demo you clicked on the Icon and that was my reference for it actually working as the video pop up should.
It’s the Button that has the bug on all devices. On mobile it is most problematic because the browser scrolls all the way up leaving the popped up video below, out of view. On desktops you at least get to see the pop up video, you just see the website snapping all the way back to the top in the background.
The problem is not just limited to one browser as well. I tested it on Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Lastly, to be thorough I also tested it on a fresh install on a subdomain and it has the same bug.
Hopefully you can help me out 🙂
