Thank you for the information:

“As you can see different theme modules use different thumbs with different aspect ratio’s. You cannot change it for each block in particular. There is only 1 featured image you can upload and the theme will crop it to every size needed. You have to make sure that 1 image will fit all the modules you use on your site properly.”

Just to be clear then, when I upload an image there is no other built-in way to specify different versions for the different blocks? Cropping and changing aspect ratios affects content and overall impression of the image, so I need to be able to recrop the image for the different blocks.I am hoping that maybe choosing a soft crop option in WordPress panel will help a bit, though in tests it doesn’t always.

1. I found a plug in that does this but haven’t tested yet. Do you know of any plug ins for this that you recommend?

2. is one option to manually put the differently cropped images (to the themes specs) in a folder and just point to them via the html?
