Marius and Christopher… Shareaholic WAS working for me fine. At the same time that shareaholic was working, I had the basic social sharing buttons from the theme as well, so it looked kinda funny. Once I had turned the social sharing buttons OFF in the theme options, it turned the original theme’s share buttons off, but it also turned shareaholic’s sharing buttons and related content off as well. So i went ahead and turned the sharing feature back on in the theme customization section and sure enough the original theme’s share buttons came back on, but now shareaholic is nowhere to be found on the page. Not quite sure what I’m doing wrong, but it seems like this is an issue… I will try out the adthis plugin and see if I have any different results and update everyone…

Thanks Christopher and Arved007… I found where you are talking about the option to turn off sharing in the customizer section of the theme… I somehow overlooked that when looking at it earlier. I WAS able to turn the built in social sharing OFF, but I’m still not quite sure how to get my shareaholic social sharing plugin to work now that it’s turned off. I’m not extremely great with coding, I have a VERY basic knowledge of it so it takes me some time to figure stuff out.

Now that I have the built in social sharing turned OFF, how can I get shareaholic to work with this theme? It doesn’t look like shareaholic has the same php files like you described in your post Christopher. Any additional light you can shed on this would be great!

Ok, I have a similar, but different questions. How do I REMOVE the social sharing buttons? I want to use another plugin called SHAREAHOLIC because the 4 basic sharing buttons (twitter, facebook google and pinterest) are not what I like for my site.

I thought I’d find the files in the single.php file, but I can’t seem to get rid of them…. Any ideas?
