Still the same problem. Nothing being blocked. I checked, they checked.

Although there’s mention of ajax items being whitelisted in Wordfence, I deactivated that plugin anyway and still the same thing.

lcerura

Okay, so those items sorted themselves out by completely clearing our my caches.

But, I’ve still got issues with making use of the ADs section in the Theme Panel. Keep getting the rotating wait thingy…as if it’s endlessly working.

Here’s a screenshot. I’ve circled in yellow the problem areas.

Hello, been too busy to deal with this until now.

Soooo, it’s even worse now than before.

I keep getting in these notices green at the top starting out like: invalid row change detected.
And the displays within the layout section on the left shows the oddest display of alignment.

You mean the latest latest version?

Will do.

lcerura

In addition to the above, just found that I can’t access the ADs section of the Theme Panel.

System Status is above and beyond what’s needed…and I had FTP uploaded the update.

Will I need to reinstall anew?

Yes, but my main theme’s not showing it. That’s the reason behind my post.

As I stated, I updated the main site and installed the theme a newly created dummy site.

The main one isn’t showing all that it’s supposed whereas the dummy one is.

Thanks Bogdan and Chris.

Once again, Cache problem…The bane of my existence! Uggggghhhhh.

Still can’t wrap my head around the issues I have with Cloudflare’s
No Query String vs. Ignore Query String vs. Standard.

Have had it at ‘Ignore Query String’ for a couple months now due to problems incurred using the others. Remedying this more current problem involved setting it to one of the others for awhile before setting it back (that is, after flushing the cache everywhere I could find).

Welllllll, examining a couple pages through Firefox’s Developer tools, I get the following as taking 15 secs to load.

…/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/images/icons/newspaper.woff?14

Anything from the Newspaper Crew?

BTW, not sure if this helps, but the social media icons initially appear as Asian (chinese?) characters in Chrome, Edge and Opera.

In FireFox they initially appear as boxes.

The other icons (search and down arrow menu) initially appear as boxy items in all browsers.

Thing is that, Google’s results are reflecting exactly what my site’s own WP Search is turning up. Google’s been extraordinarily on top of spidering my site. New items appear within hours at google.

But yes, regarding what you’ve mentioned: I usually reserve the name and address of the venue for H3 rather than H2 (which I reserve for the event date). Dependent upon the specific situation, that is.

Had gotten into Yoast off and on over the years. Not sure I want to head down that direction again. Will try out those other suggestions of yours on my dummy test site.

Sorry to hear about your own dealings with Google. Going mildly insane trying to get included in Google News. Might as well be driving backwards up a dark hill with no street lights.

Thanks again Chris. 😉

Just went to my Google Custom Search panel (Used to use it years ago before I moved to WP).

After mucking about a bit I thought to enter in the search word I was having trouble with. Appears that the problem is there as well. Keep in mind, this is AT the Google Custom Search Panel, without having made use of it on my site.

Can anyone think of how I can go about figuring out what’s causing this?

Thanks kindly Chris for chiming in.

BUT, I’m concerned about losing the AJAX functionality. Don’t completely understand how it works, but will the speediness and live search features still be there if I add another plugin to replace WP Core’s search?

I honestly thought TagDiv’s employment of AJAX had been superseding that of the core.

lcerura

I’m not requiring more functionality. I’m simply looking for it to turn up the proper results.

For example:
I’ve got many posts from over the years for a specific venue. A search for that venue’s name turns up old posts but not the latest ones. I assure you, the actual venue’s name appears within each of those posts as well as in the title.

Been at this for too many hours now but does it sound like Cloudflare’s caching would’ve been the culprit?

Changed some settings over there and removed some remnant WP SuperCache code from htaccess and that error message has disappeared. Not sure which one or if both were the cause.

Thanks for trying to help.

lcerura

Switched the theme momentarily to the main one and after clearing cache everywhere, still get that error.

Thanks for continuing to followup with me Bogdan.

Had already reinstalled WP yesterday but still the same.

Will need to wait before switching the theme due to heavy traffic. I’ll post here anew.

lcerura

Also, the issue is still going on.

Forgive me, had so many issues all related to each other that I’d forgotten the original subject of this message.

lcerura

Okay then, is there a less painful way of switching to the main without losing my settings?

lcerura
tagDiv Member

Hi again, everything’s up to snuff now. A good dose of CCleaner did the trick.

Thank you.

Still wondering though about activating the main theme in lieu of the child.

lcerura
tagDiv Member

Hi, yeah, I ended up deactivating a couple plugins that Kinda of helped the situation. In Firefox, Opera it’s speedy; plus, of all places, even faster on IE.

But on Chrome it’s intermittent and problematic. Have cleaned out the cache repeatedly on Cloudflare, Fastest Cache and in the browsers but very choppy in Chrome.

I don’t understand though the thinking: Main theme and child theme. Isn’t there a universal thought about the safety of using a child theme? Also, when I switch, I ended up without my settings. Nothing in footer, no menu, my sidebars screwy. I did try to import the theme settings from the child into the main theme but still didn’t catch. What then?
Tried it twice mind you. Clearing cache all over but nothing.

Okay, forgive me. Just saw another thread concerning CSS and Mobile.

So I’ve entered the following but no change.

@media
(max-width: 767px){
.td-post-title h1{
font-size: 12px !important;
}
}

Regardless of that, I’d still like to know if it’s possible to hide the post title.

Thanks
