Thanks Simon for helping out.
Thanks for your assistance! I tried removing any such image, purging cache each time, uploading an https of the same image. Nothing worked for me. Finally i stumbled upon a plugin that finally did the majic. However i still have to wait and see if that plugin comes at some price. Everything is good so far!
Chris i tried it too, the only thing that helped was deactivating the theme itself. I tried to figure out from the clues given by chrome here ”’jquery.js?ver=1.12.4:2 Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://asma.net/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image ‘http://asma.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/mobile.jpg’. This content should also be served over HTTPS. But failed to find that string in complex coded theme files. I am not good at understanding coding , unfortunately.
Yes Chris, i did, i even deleted the previous ones, uploaded new ones, double checked all the links, the link for the mobile/search background image. Where exactly this http is sitting in the theme files!!
Actually wp super cache didn’t help me too much in boosting pasge speed but w3tc does. Yes, it did cause this specific issue, i have to figure out what exact settings trigger this. I wonder if you make the theme compatible with w3tc anytime in the future as a large number of Newspaper users prefere w3tc over WP super cache. Have a nice day!
I solved the problem somehow! My problem was because of W3Tc settings although the CDN was disabled. I restored the dafault setting and the icons reappeared, however i couldn’t figure out what specific settings in W3TC has caused that issue.
But my case is different, i don’t use any CDN. I checked my W3 total Cashe settings and no CDN is enabled. My issue occured when i updated the theme to the latest version.
Hi Bogdan! I have the same issue, i couldn’t understand properly what two domains he is taliking about here:
change your htaccess file code on resource server domain (i.e. The cdn htaccess; not the source calling the resource)
Can you please elaborate this a little further for me?
In your dashboard go to Newspaper>>theme panel>>Post settings>>Sharing and turn off Top article sharing/top article like tweet.

Hi! I asked my host to apply all the recommended settings in wp-config, and .htacess. Double checked everything but still the error persists. only changing the theme solves the issue.
This problem frustrated me a lot. Is there any other way to address the issue?
Thanks Bogdan! I will try applying the changes!
