Hi,

I just figured out what was causing the problem and thought to post an update here to let others know in case they may have the same problems.

I have W3 Total Cache plugin installed, it is best to use the default Minify settings otherwise they will interfere with the HTML which is not good 🙂

But I am still having issues with #6: The color of the date and the comment options are too light to read, need to make them darker?

Hi Marius,

I did as you advised. I completely removed the entire Newspaper theme via FTP and then did a clean install with v3.6 thru FTP.

I am still experiencing the same problems as listed above.

Hi,

1. There is a larger gap in the lines in the first paragraph: http://www.screencast.com/t/swiCZWJqpj

3. Where do I add this code:

<h4 class=”block-title”>
<span>YOUR TITLE HERE</span>
</h4>

Hi Marius,

I am still having issues with #1, 3, 5, and 6

1. After changing the content font size in the custom typography section of the theme options, the line height of the first paragraph of each post is always different than the line height of the following paragraphs.

3. Where can I add that code?

5. The URL is http://www.mushroomrobot.com

6. The URL is http://www.mushroomrobot.com

Many thanks for all the help you’ve given so far.

Best,

Nick

Hi,

I already looked through the Theme Customizer and it doesn’t work. I want to change only the text in the articles in each post as seen here:

http://www.screencast.com/t/7ycaUgTZ2ZD

While keeping all the fonts in the titles, homepage, buttons, menus, the same.

Hi,

Still have a couple issues: http://www.screencast.com/t/NCzlNWFfO

1. Can’t find how to add the subtitle
2. Capitalizing the author name, as well as possibly showing only just the first name
3. Remove the post/comment stat boxes in the author box

Again, many thanks!

Hi,

Still no effect.

I reduced your default values in half and the layout is still completely unaffected.

Following the first two instructions, it seems to have no effect. I’ve even went as far as putting all the padding dimensions to zero and when I compare the before and after changes to style.css, the homepage looks exactly the same.

Thank you so much! This worked beautifully.

As someone who is just starting out with no coding experience whatsoever, your help has been greatly appreciated!

Best,

Nick

Thanks for the solutions! They both worked.

However now I want to switch the placement of date and author. I want the line under each picture to read: Date by Author Name. The only problem is that when I switch the code to look like:
$buffy .= $this->get_date();
$buffy .= $this->get_author();

I get the hyphen that sticks out at the end of the name. How do I remove the hyphen? Also there needs to be a space after the Date. Here’s what it looks like:
