I am going to use another theme for now. No need to log in because I will use a different theme – at least for now. I have grown tired of WAITING for this theme to work for me. A FREE theme is looking great. UGH! this is why some people find it hard to invest. If I return to this theme, I guess this will continue to be a pending issue. I bought this several months ago and I am yet to have this theme look like what I hoped – the vision I got when I decided to buy this.

a part of the challenge is, Bluehost has a verification code it sends to my email that I believe expires within a certain time frame. Happy to offer the login – I just see a challenge with the notification of your attempt to login and my response.

Either I did not state my goal clearly, or the answer was given without consideration of what I was trying to achieve. I guess the answer is the answer I did NOT want? There is no way to have the featured image show on the cover without it ALSO showing in the post? Is that the answer? So I MUST remove the element in the post (the video) that I actually DO WANT in the post? I want when people open the post the video is there without having to do the extra click away to another page to view it – but from the circle I am going in, the answer – although none of you have said it is – If I want a featured image, then the image WILL appear in the post. No way around it, so either I have it appear and seem to overwhelm the post, OR I remove my video that I do want there and have them do the extra click to another page to view the video. Let us just END this chat. I am going to assume that is the answer because I hate open loops that continue to loop.

I truly wish I could get a straight answer that resolves my issue. I have had this bouncing for more than a month. The title of my newspaper – Influence Media News, does not show on desktop. It is CUT OFF on the left and there is so much SPACE as the post is pushed to the right leaving a huge space. I need the content margin reduced so that the article and the name of the paper are in alignment. I am not sure how else to explain this and I would like to understand how to execute the fix. I am n ot sure what you mean by left side. I wish I could get a straight answer. This request has been bouncing for more than a month. Please assume me an absolute idiot. I set the featured image on the RIGHT SIDE ONLY!!!! I do not add it anywhere else. It correctly shows on the cover as a way to encourage reading the article. The problem is the picture is ALSO on the article once you open the post. Since the image is also the video thumbnail it seems to feel repeated on the post page. The featured image AND the video (of which the featured image is the video thumbnail) both appear in the post and feels overwhelming. I want the featured image on the cover to get people to read the post. I would like if the feature image could be eliminated from he article. I am not sure how to make this request any clearer. If this cannot be done and I just have to live with the image in both places, say so. Thank you.

OK, I am going to assume I was unclear. My post does not have the featured image added as an element inside the post, the same way I add a video element.

I tell the system what the featured image is so that it will appear on the cover of the summary, encouraging people to read the post.

The featured image and the video appear upon clicking to read the post. I do not want the image to show up on the post page, but I do want it to indicate that a post is there to be read on the main page. When I went to my post, there was no element to delete. If I do not indicate a featured image on the right panel, no image shows on the cover or the summary.

I am crying!!! Why can’t I see my site on my phone? What do I need to fix?

I do NOT want to design a special mobile view. I want whatever I create for desktop to have an optimized mobile view. I would rather design an optimized mobile view that looks decent on desktop because data shows most of my web visits are from mobile devices, but now on my phone there is a BLANK page where content used to be after I started playing around based on your detailed note above. God knows what I checked/unchecked to go from a header messed up site to a good header and zero content on my mobile phone. My tablet shows content for the site but now the header is wider than the page, that was not happening before but at least unlike my mobile phone the tablet does show content on the pages. I am so frustrated.

Now I have ZERO mobile view. I preferred a messed up one to none. How do I revert? Is there a history option that I can go back in time. So you gave a lot of instructions but not geared to if you want this, do this. So I was busy clicking and God knows what I have messed up. How do I go back to my messed up mobile? I want it fixed but I would rather have some mobile view than none.

WHATEVER I did, now the header is fixed but there is zero content in mobile. UGH!

Also, what I saw when I clicked the mobile edit as you showed, is NOT what I see on my phone so there is another disconnect. On my phone when I enter the website I do see the cover and the header is what I was complaining about, but when I click the mobile as per your screenshot, the header is fine but the cover page does not show and it repeats to infinity the page it does show. UGH! I am going to go with what I see on my phone. While it has a header issue, it is otherwise fine. While the header is fine on the other mobile view, the page is not.

OK, so why isn’t the cover the first page on the mobile view but it is on the desktop?
Also, the mobile view seems to repeat my pages as I scroll down? I just want to have this site up. I have been tinkering with it for too long and my goals for launch have been shot. I thought this would have been easier. UGH!

The mobile header is black and I cannot read anything that should be around it, nor can I see the logo.

I am getting a 404 right now and I think it has something to do with the URL update to my domain. However, I did want to ask, the demo newspaper theme, is that content static? Will it change? How could I make an RSS feed to some of those posts so they update often? Also, how would I add the screenshots there is no paperclip. can I copy paste here?

OK, I fixed that. Now, having made changes and saved the site, it says it is published, but when I go to view it, it flashes the changed site and shows the demo version. How do I get to see the updates?
