I am not trying to necessarily remove the subscription itself but make it to where the options arent visible to regular users. They still want those options in order to direct specific users that would more likely choose to re-subscribe if given a discount

It looks like the newspaper theme is making these subscriptions/register pages refer to the blog post template, where post navigation is based on the same category. I definitely dont want to mess up all future articles navigation by editing the existing blog template, just specific to subscription pages. Does that make sense?

You rock, I really appreciate your input. I actually came to the same conclusion eventually and did not see this response until now. Just realized my notifications were going to the junk folder!
