Earlier today had VC 4.3.5 loaded and active with NewsMag 1.7.1 on a dedicated server with the same site that I had problems before. Did not use VC, as such, to create or edit any new pages but checked the CPU over a 6 hour period and had no hyper-actively to see!
So thanks, that is looking good as a solution for now.

ShowbizCool. Reason: Clarity
Thanks to Chris for the idea but tried VC 4.4.2 earlier today and unfortunately within a few minutes SQL database had crashed 🙂
So the need for an alternative would still seem necessary. Could someone from the TagDiv team comment on this problem?
The makers of VC are saying to others that having slow servers “I should draw your attention that we are always working on improvements and soon we will roll out another performance improvement round.”
PS Chris, I never said “death of TagDiv”, did someone else?
Thanks Chris for your comments.
When I updated I had hoped what you where saying would work. Unfortunately with the VC supplied with 1.7.1 renders the server unusable within a few minutes! Only a restart and quick removal of VC with Firezilla brings things back. I note you are suggesting using an older version which I might try if I am feeling brave!
I edited the code on the front page myself to clean it up. However I have another page which is producing just code on display which I might just have to disable until we have some better method of editing!
I note another popular ThemeForest theme is removing VC from their setup. So seems it is more than us that are dissatisfied with it. Unfortunately it also makes one concerned about NewsMag…
Just updated the theme (was quite a few updates behind) and associated plugins and had the problem mentioned here (massive increase in CPU usage). The problem was so bad that I could not even have VC active to modify any pages that needed editing!
Using your temporary Shim plugin which is actually reducing average CPU usage from the working setup before (with old version of theme/plugin).
Any ETA on a editing solution?
Been using the theme for a year now. Quite understand why you might want to have this “activate the theme!” code but I see it asks for Server information. Does this mean if I change the server the theme will be inactive/ unusable?
Also it has been asking for this for a few days, what would happen it I don’t “activate’ as it continues to work at present…
Now had chance to update to 4.3 and Mega menu does not interfere with the main lists.
Thanks.
Thought everyone would be interested to know that I am still waiting to hear back from Envato to reset the download limit (there have been so many updates for this theme).
On Sept 1st they said “Our wait time is currently longer than we’d like it to be at the moment so we appreciate your patience.”…
Zzzz
Would be good to try but had to submit a request to ThemeForest as apparently I have “reach my download limit”!
Just wondering what progress there has been on this problem.
Thanks
Had to turn off the very useful feature for now while you look into this. Was not worth the recent articles getting ‘lost’ in the mega menu…
Just found a problem with this myself. Can’t say for sure it is the Enabling Ajax Post views, which I have enabled, however it is not functioning as before.
Looks like it is now counting the first batch in each of the mega menus (i.e. those first visible) and excluding these from the main page…
Still have the problem with the missing images in Visual Composer even with today’s update.
Thanks to Kronos1723 and Marius.
Guess I assumed the update was installed as before (and missed any extra details??).
Now installed and some pages where I have used Visual Composer are missing showing the image boxes. I did try deleting the images and remade those image boxes in the pages but it still leaves a blank space. Am I missing something else?
Just seen this – v annoying as I held of for the update – now I see it did not fix things… wasted a lot of time…

ShowbizCool.
Was about to test out what plugin’s conflicted but first noticed there was an update for Yeost SEO and NextGen Gallery plug in’s. Updated and all now works as it should!
Hi Radu O
Not using revoltion slider so disabled it. No improvement.
So disabled Speed Booster. That solved it.
I see there is just now a new Speed Booster version – does this fix it?
Thanks

Hi,
are you using revolution slider? If not, please disable it.
solution 2: disable the speed booster plugin.
Sorry that I’ve missed that error. Radu O.
I emailed you the url earlier.
I note the the speed booster plugin is stopping your slider from displaying the second page. I mention this in case the ad problem is related.
