Hi Calin,

Thanks agian for a quick reply. I managed to solve it!

I’m quite familiar with Cloudflare so thought this might be the answer.
The only thing I had set differently to the suggestions was that I had RocketLoader enabled. I disabled that and Purged the cache, but still getting the same result.

I actually enabled Dev mode within Cloudflare to test this too, as there seeems to have been a lot more options added to CF since your tutorial was written, so wanted to rule it out.

Development Mode

Temporarily bypass our cache allowing you to see changes to your origin server in realtime.

Note: Enabling this feature can significantly increase origin server load. Development mode does not purge the cache so files will need to be purged after development mode expires.
This setting was last changed a few seconds ago

Unfortunately even with Dev mode enabled within CF I still couldn’t get the image to show.

I eventually found the problem though…

Again an out-of-date plug-in is responsible.

I’ll contact the developer and see if he needs to push a change, but you pointing me in the right direction helped a lot!

Thank you again,

Michael

Hi Calin,

Thank you for this. A simple suggestion, but it worked!

It seemed that an out-of-date plugin was the cause of my problems.

I have the theme up and running now and have ported the site over to my main domain again. WordPress and my theme are now fully up-to-date and (almost) working!

I do seem to have a little problem remaining that I can’t figure out in that my main featured image seems to refuse to want to show.

* I have tried changing the featured image on the article.
* I also tried changing the main featured article, but the featured image just shows blank all the time.
* If I open the TAGDIV editor, I can see the image, however not if I browser to the site like a user would.

I’ve also tried opening the site in a few different browsers.

Can you help?

Hi Calin,

This was already done, but no luck.

Is it possible there are hardcoded references to the original IP/URL in the theme files somewhere?

WP Settings

As I say, the default Theme – Twenty Twenty One works, but if I switch to Newsmag, the site just won’t allow a browser to connect.

I have switched to the default theme so you can see it working.

Many thanks,

Michael

Okay, another I think I seem to have fixed after leaving the problem then coming back to it with some ideas.

In theme panel on my live site, I clicked on Import/Export, then copied and pasted the Export Theme settings into a text file.

I then went back to my rebuild copy of the site and in the same Import/Export section of the Newsmag Theme Panel reset the theme settings.

This appeared to bring back my images and reset the site to a default WordPress install.

I simply pasted in my copied text to the Import Theme settings text box and imported the theme which more-or-less brought everything back.

I still need to go in and manually to the Theme Customiser and set-up a Homepage and some menus, but I think I’ve got it to a state I can work with here.

I commented out the memory limit within the wp-config file also.

Notice: Constant WP_MEMORY_LIMIT already defined in /opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/htdocs/wp-config.php on line 114

Same result.

I wonder if I possibly need to re-install or update the pre-built website that is on here – it’s possible the one (Tech) I have hasn’t been updated and isn’t compatible with the latest versions of WP and Newsmag?

Arggghhhh, I missed the obvious. I needed to activate and register the theme within my WordPress control panel.

Click on the Newsmag menu at the top and click the “activate” link

My bad.

Hopefully my mistake will help other. :/
