No, unfortunately.
I turned off the mobile theme and am now using the desktop theme for mobile.

Hi Calin,

Thank you so much for the fix! I did as you suggested and applied footer style 13 for now. I’m gonna look at the elementor documentation to see if I can find out why that element is showing up.

Kind regards,
Kim

Hi Calin,

If you could, that would be great. My site would look ok again (even if I lose the footer) and I can focus on creating content (and maybe learn some coding to see if I can find a more permanent solution).

Kind regards,
Kim

As you can read in my first post: yes it is a plugin conflict.

My question is as follows (as you know Newspaper better than I do): could this be a case of wrong infinite loading applied because of the plugin? It is really strange because it first started happening about one week ago. The month+ before it was functioning normally.

I’m hoping I can get Newspaper to work with my existing content and website. It is far easier to deactivate Newspaper than to redo the lay-out of all my posts.

Hi Calin,

Thanks for your replies. I did set the menu in polylang as described in the documentation.

For now I have deactivated the mobile theme plugin and semi-optimized the desktop version for mobile. I will look into this again someday. My options seem to be to wait for compatibility with Polylang, switch to WPML or see if I can fix it in either the plugin or theme code.

Thanks for your help. Let’s close this topic.

Hi teknobilimadami,

I have ‘Mobile’ selected in the Mobile Theme Panel. I can’t even select AMP, because I don’t have it installed. You can see it in the second screenshot I linked in my first post.

Kind regards,

Hi Calin,

Thanks for your replies. I use Polylang instead of WPML, but as everything else works fine I didn’t expect any problems. For example, the logo in the header does point to the NL home from all Dutch posts and pages and switching between languages works as well… it’s just the menu.

Do you have an example site or do you know a site that uses Newspaper and WPML that has a working multilingual mobile menu? I’d like to be sure the problem lies with the plugin and not the theme before I buy something else (with yearly fees).

Or else is there a way to create a workaround to point the mobile theme to two different menus? Again, the desktop versions can find both language versions of the menu without problems.

Also, what’s interesting: if I turn off the mobile theme for my NL Home, then it does use the NL Menu for that page (https://wheretokim.com/nl). But on any other NL page it uses the EN Menu.

I really like the mobile theme as I think it is more user-friendly, but right now I’m considering not using it.

The menu would be translated, but it will still have the hyperlinks to the English language site… I need them to also send the user to the Dutch pages.

So how do I use the NL mobile menu with NL text and NL hyperlinks in the mobile theme? If the desktop theme can work with two menu versions, then why can’t the mobile theme?
