Hi everybody, I’m experiencing big issues after updating to last wordpress version, my site (www.lungotevere.org) is messed up, all the images, sidebar and logo are disappeared. The admin pannel lost a big part of the left menu and error strings appeared:

et ‘td_cake_status_time’ in /web/htdocs/www.lungotevere.org/home/wp/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_util.php on line 150

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘firstInstall’ in /web/htdocs/www.lungotevere.org/home/wp/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_util.php on line 150

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘tds_thumb_td_80x60’ in /web/htdocs/www.lungotevere.org/home/wp/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_first_install.php on line 17

Please can you help?

Hello valerianidesign,

Please ensure that your latest update was loaded successfully. So, to be sure, please try to make a fresh install and update the theme only through FTP because this is the surest method to do an update. Also, after doing that, please install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme (Visual Composer 4.11.2, Social Counter 4.0). Before doing an update, please ensure that you have removed your old theme to avoid the installation errors.
For more information about theme update, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi Catalin, I just re-updated the theme as you indicated, via FTP, I deleted the old theme folder and wp cache but nothing really changed, images still won’t show up, header and sidebar is still missing, part of the menu as well.

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘tds_thumb_td_1068x0’ in /web/htdocs/www.lungotevere.org/home/wp/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_first_install.php on line 17

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘tds_thumb_td_0x420’ in /web/htdocs/www.lungotevere.org/home/wp/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_first_install.php on line 17

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘td_version’ in /web/htdocs/www.lungotevere.org/home/wp/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_util.php on line 150

Hello valerianidesign,

Please ensure that you have right installed your latest update via FTP according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. If your problem is still there before after these changes, please try to make a new install within a sub-domain only with Visual Composer and check how it works.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi, thanks for your reply, I made a new wp installation within a sub-domain (with only the visual composer plugin active) and it works fine with demo content, now, what does it means? I can not re-build all the site in this new installation, it will cost days of work. How can i fix my old site?
Best

Hello valerianidesign,

Please notice that our theme was fully tested in this regard before to be released and you should not have these type of errors. As you can see, the problems appear on your side and probably is caused by your settings.
So, first of all, please try to do a full backup to your data, according to this documentation here -> https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups to rule out the way can loose all your data from your database and then try to do a fresh install only VIA FTP -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ because this is the surest method in this case. In the next step, you will have to disable ALL your plugins and leave just Visual Composer to active -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ (for Newspaper 7 -> Visual Composer 4.11.2), clear all your caches, purge all CDN files if you are using CDN and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins and if you are using the Child theme, please try to switch to the main theme. So, please try to bring your old website to the default settings to rule out all the potential errors which could appear when you customize your side.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
