Newspaper 8.1 theme folder error and missing a file

Hello,

I’m having a little problem, Google Webmaster Tools and the browser reports me an internal error 500 for the theme’s folder URL (/wp-content/themes/Newspaper). How can i fix it?

Furthermore i have noticed that in the last update 8.1 of Newspaper is missing an important file (themes/Newspaper/mobile/js/tagdiv_theme.js) that is needed to make work the mobile top menu bar. I’m actually using the file of Newspaper version 8.0.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

There was an issue with the mobile theme functionality in the previous update, please follow this topic for more information
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-tabs-not-loading/
You could try a fresh theme install by FTP using the latest theme package

Thanks

Hi,

It could be related to these parameters
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Please check the theme system status and make the modifications if required.
I also found some topics that might be useful in case of these errors

No, its not a crawl error, as i said the url (https://gamesquare.it/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/) is not accessible even from the browser. Yesterday I have done a fresh install of the template and a fresh install of wordpress files on FTP, all files permissions are 644 and folder permissions 755.

Hi,

I believe directory browsing is not recommended
http://www.wpsuperstars.net/how-to-disable-directory-browsing-wordpress/
You could check with your hosting to see if directory browsing is disabled and enable it. Or try enabling it yourself by editing the htaccess file
http://www.1squarepear.com/how-to-use-htaccess-to-disable-or-enable-directory-browsing/

Thanks

Then why only Newspaper’s folder reports “The page doesn’t work”? The other folders reports “You don’t have permission to access /folder/location/ on this server.”. Is there a way to fix this?
I already have this code in my .htaccess:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
Options All -Indexes

Hi,

I could not say what the solution would be, and I have found no similar Webmaster tools error related to the theme folder itself. The indexing should not look for the theme folder, since it’s not a URL that’s supposed to be indexed. You can mark it as solved and maybe ask for more information in the Webmaster forums
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters

Thanks
