Ad Formats Integration – 970×250 & 970×90

Hello,

May I please get the code for implementing the above said ad formats right below the TRENDING NOW ticker in the header of ALL pages of my site /or maybe above the TRENDING NOW ticker, below the MAIN MENU. As a suggestion, this should be a built-in feature, in order to provide maximum potential for monetizing the traffic on one’s site.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hello,

Please keep in mind that on the future, we do not plan to integrate two Ad Spots in our header style because of it’s too much and also, it’s not recommended doing this, sorry! Please notice that our theme has a big list of header styles which use the Ad Spots in different positions, as you can see here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-header-styles/
Notice that is the maximum size for Ads in our theme -> https://www.screencast.com/t/5zNTiAuft1R

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello Catalin,

Thanks for your response.

I am not sure I understand the point of your “Note that is the maximum size for ads in our theme” comment. This is exactly what I want in terms of size, so again, I do not understand why you say this. It is not like I want or seek a larger size. Regardless, we are clear on this one.

That 2nd link you have sent shows you calling an IMAGE of the ad size, not the ad itself. What code / short code do I have to put in place of you calling the image of the ad size, in order to show an actual ad?

Nobody is saying I will use 2 ads in the header. Why do you assume that? I would much rather display a 970×250 or 970×90 ad than a smaller one right of the logo – it pays better! You should be concerned with providing EVERY meaningful ability for your theme’s users to EARN MONEY, especially given the fact we pay you money for your theme. Right? Your theme is not just a browsing tool, but for many of us, it is a monetizing tool, which helps us earn our living!

Another point I have been trying to make with tagDiv for a very long time – why do you restrict the size of the logo your users can have. This is obvious by you allowing only 728×90 ads right of the logo. What if the logo is wider and only a 468×60 ad would work, or a smaller one?

You are doing a good job, but a few things, like this header ad problem I have been bringing up, are left not well thought through.

Please specify where do I have to add short code (and what that short code is), which will display a 970×250 or 970×90 ad below the MAIN MENU in the header.

Thank you very much, and please try to find the rational thought I have attempted to defend and bring to your attention above – you should NOT restrict logo size in the world of infinite options when it comes to creativity and individuality.

I look forward to receiving a response on where do I have to add short code (and what that code is), which will display a 970×250 or 970×90 ad below the MAIN MENU in the header.

Thanks,
Peter

Hi,

Regarding the header styles, it is true that most of the header styles have a required logo image size to be used, but for example Header style 10 does not have limitations. Any logo size can be uploaded and it will be displayed in full
https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-logo-favicon/
Header styles 7 and 8 are somewhat similar, but the logo size being limited by the container width as mentioned in the guide.
Regarding the ad size, I don’t fully understand the problem. If you use Adsense, create the ad you want and place the code provided by Google Adsense in the theme panel sections needed. Place it in a custom ad spot if that is what you need, that you can use on top of the page, using the page editor

Thanks for your esponse, but it does not have the most important piece of info I need. What is the code I need to put in my Custom CSS to have the desired by me 970×250 ad box appear below the MAIN MENU & the TRENDING NOW ticker line in the header.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Peter

Hi,

Maybe I am misunderstanding this, but I don’t know what extra CSS code you require to display an ad, on a page. Simply paste the Adsense ad code in the theme panel, in a custom ad section for example
https://www.screencast.com/t/Yn2t25uF4
Then using an Ad box, place it below the trending now present on the page or where needed
https://www.screencast.com/t/rhtQAFBSEuN
https://www.screencast.com/t/BkHyayeu4x
The Ad box will display the ad entered in the theme panel. The only limitation to the ad size is the theme width itself.
If I am not understanding this properly, please provide some examples of what exactly you are trying, and what is the problem.

Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for your response. I do not know the location shown on the 2nd link you sent: https://www.screencast.com/t/rhtQAFBSEuN Where are you doing this?

Thanks.

Hello,

The screen was made from TD Composer page builder. Do you are using this to create your website? Please check the following useful manual here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial-2/

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello, this works if I wanted to make the change on a single page. Instead, as initially stated, I would like to make the change to the HEADER. How do I edit the header with TD Composer?

Thanks.

Post count: 23312

Hello,

Unfortunately, the header section can’t be changed by TD Composer, sorry! If you want to make some changes in that section, you should edit the code from the header style used by you. Here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/mWK7BZvq you can see all the header style files which should have to be edited if you want to make some changes in your header section.

Thanks for your understanding!

Thanks, but we are spinning in a circle and not accomplishing absolutely anything helping to resolve my issue with adding a 970×250 ad to the HEADER of ALL pages on my site.

Why not simply EDIT the header.php file to insert a div and then your Adsense code, or your AdRotate code, or your static banners? That’s what I did. 5 minutes and done. Common WordPress practice, and simplest solution if you’re lost with other solutions!

( my opinion only; I do NOT work here … )

Thank you Chris, this was my idea before they started talking about using other methods. I had asked them what Custom CSS code can I sue (custom CSS in order not to get overwritten when the next update comes along). They did not provide this info and the problem is I am not a programmer and do not know their code.

If you could please give me the code you added, I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks.

Well, keep in mind ‘hacking’ the theme or any theme will need to be redone each time you update theme; same if you add custom functions to your functions.php — advanced users create their own plugin and put all their functions in there to survive theme updates — you can google that.

Anyway, here is something I did for one site to add top of page banner above menus … this is for only printing ads on posts and not on pages or indexes (indexes have a simple sidebar ad top of sidebar instead).

Anyway…. not sure this will print on this forum due to the php query, but here goes … I made a custom css class to control padding, background color and bottom border and align center:

<?php if ( is_single() ) {?>
<div class="neotopper"><script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>
<ins class="adsbygoogle"
style="display:block"
data-ad-client="MMMMMMMMMMMM"
data-ad-slot="NNNNNNNN"
data-ad-format="auto"></ins>
<script>
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
</script></div>
<?php } ?>

You can try adding that to your header.php, after body area starts, and then see what happens; then adjust … trial and error; that’s how rest of us do it — hope that helps! 🙂

Thanks 4 ur help. I just wonder why tagdiv is silent providing a userfriendly and easy to implement solution. Regars.

Post count: 9544

Because they don’t provide ‘hacking’ per their support information.

If you want to ‘hack’ the theme with customizatons, there is a decade of tutorials online for learning how to edit WP templates; which is how I learned to do this stuff. No book on how to do this. Luckily one person figures something out, then shares, and then often posts a blog about it — and usually I find something and shazam.

Learning very basic CSS is also critical with this stuff.

And, realizing that for some things there is no “perfect” theme — it always needs something modified, and the trick is keeping track of that with ‘work folders’ on your PC, where you have your raw version, edits, and a log file of WHAT you changed, so that with the next update you can copy over the change.

I learned this lesson with pesky WooCommerce, too. Some stuff can *only* be fixed with functions, some stuff you have to hack the template, etc. Annoying .. but still better than building something entirely from scratch.

Anyway — hope that helped with the ‘hack’ I’ve used. “Trial and error” is the way to learn this stuff.

Sometimes I’ll open template and put something like ‘TEST NOTE’ there, just to see WHERE on the page it actually shows up! 🙂

Hello Simon,

Please see brookline.com for how I have integrated 970×250 ad below the main menu only for the home page. My question to you is what is the code, which was added to the page using the TD Composer, which I can use to add to the Custom CSS code in order for the add box and background image (the bar code to the right – used as a filler of the remaining empty space) to appear in the HEADER for ALL pages.

Thanks.

@Afterglow – I agree with your suggestion (#194220) for having an additional header style that will work with 970×90 image, above menu. Also want code to integrate 970×90 ad functionality. Much better positioning.

Hi,

In order for that ad to appear in the header, you will have to modify the header template used. There you could enter the custom ad through a do_shortcode

<?php echo do_shortcode ('your shortcode here'); ?>

In this example I have set an Ad-box element on a page, and set a background for the row just like you did
https://www.screencast.com/t/EV89r3ThoWY
Then using the code of these elements in the shortcode
https://www.screencast.com/t/80go1NXi
https://www.screencast.com/t/kLWwIoUC5x
The result is like this, the ad is integrated in the header on all the website
https://www.screencast.com/t/aeeR4No4
https://www.screencast.com/t/1JjUTcOGQ
I believe this is what you want to do, this would be a method of achieving this.

Thanks
